Of the tinned truffles, the Pieces of Truffle, the Brushed Truffle First Choice and the Brushed Truffle Extra all contain truffles of the same maturity and quality. The truffles Extra are the most evenly shaped ones. The First Choice are more irregular and the Pieces of Truffle are from the very large truffles which are often hard to sell whole.
Truffle Butter 45g
Ingredients for this particularly fine butter include 'Beurre d'Echire', the finest butter in France with a minimum content of 3% black winter truffle (tuber melanosporum), seasoned with salt and pepper and enhanced with a small amount of black truffle flavouring. Simply serve spread on thin toast for an aperitif or add a knob to opened oysters and grill. Adds a wonderful flavour to mashed potato, fresh pasta or for an indulgent breakfast, to scrambled egg.
